Rufus Porter Museum and Cultural Heritage Center celebrates contributions of Rufus Porter to American arts & industry. Preserved in a home on 67 N. High St. in Bridgton containing his vivid circa 1828 murals in the front parlor.  An exhibition & teaching facility devoted to the creative arts & sciences of the 19th & 20th centuries, it's the only entity devoted to his work. Related works by Maine folk artists John Davis, John Brewster, Jr., George Hartwell & William Prior enable visitors to compare period art of his contemporaries. Extensive collection of early issues of Scientific American magazine also on display. Mushers Bowl Winter Carnival Bridgton's annual winter carnival and national dog sled races.  Snowmobiling demos & rides, ice fishing, skijoring and dog sled rides held at Highland Beach only steps from the inn.  Watch fundraisers take a polar plunge in the lake for Harvest Hills Animal Shelter.

Fryeburg Fair Maine's largest agricultural fair established in 1851, attracts 300,000+ annually.  Nestled on 185 acres in the foothills of the White Mountains, the fair boasts more than 4,000 animals as a result of its centerpiece 4-H animal program.  Highlights include calf & pig scrambles, sheep dog trials, Skillet Throwing Contest, Woodsman's Day, Pari-mutual harness racing, Firemen's Muster, Nightly grandstand entertainment & more.

 

Deertrees Theatre Built in 1936 in the Adirondack Style with near perfect acoustics, the 300 seat theatre was considered as fine as any on Broadway.  Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, it operates as a non-profit performing arts center presenting  over fifty productions during the June - Sept. season.  Home to the Deertrees Theatre Festival, Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival, Deertrees Children’s Wednesday Series, BackStage Gallery and Salt Lick Café, it is one of the most active performing arts venues in Maine.

The Big Kahuna Cafe The Big Kahuna Cafe, A Folk & Blues Venue presenting live Blues, Jazz, Folk, Contemporary Folk ,Bluegrass and Country music in an historic Masonic Hall that was built in 1863.  The cafe is located only minutes from the inn in Bridgton, Maine's historic downtown center.
